Basketball players are increasingly known for their style on and off the court, and over the years players like Dwyane Wade, Amar’e Stoudemire, and Russell Westbrook have all raised the bar for personal style within the sport. But just because the guys are in the front rows during Fashion Week doesn’t mean that they are the only one’s having fun with clothes. At last night’s ESPY Awards it was WNBA player Skylar Diggins who managed to completely steal the show.

Dressed in a glittering beaded gown covered in silk flowers to join Usher at the microphone, Diggins stepped onstage with the confidence of a champion. The delicately beaded frock from Pedram Couture’s Art Deco–inspired lines highlighted both Diggins’s impeccable, sculpted physique and her love of an unexpected fashion moment. Working with stylist Jason Sky, Diggins found a a soignée, sultry-summer perfect manner in which to approach awards show dressing. It’s not every athlete who can take on the red carpet with the same energy they bring to the court, but Diggins has proved herself to be an exciting presence in both arenas, and a big draw for the WNBA and beyond
